Vibratory plating is the most effective method to achieve plating on deep bores on small contacts. The frequency of the vibratory motion is controlled to pound (without damaging) the fluids inside of bores and extract during the process, providing fresh plating fluids to enter deep in the bore for deposit. Another benefit in vibratory plating is the uniform deposit of plating deposit. The variance in thickness from all the parts is maintained at a minimum.
Advantages of Vibratory Plating
- Excellent plating distribution and uniformity within pieces along with part to part situations
- Minimal damage to fragile parts
- Large production capability
- low labor costs
- Low Solution drag-out
- Variable agitation
Comparison vs Rack & Barrel Plating
Vibratory plating has allowed the obtaining of the high-quality finish of rack plating with the economic efficiency of barrel plating. The process is capable of much better plating distributions from piece to piece and its accuracy reduces the number of rejected parts produced compared to other plating processes.
It offers superior plating distribution, minimizes the usage of materials, reduces damage to parts and allows for significant labor savings despite the increased initial equipment costs.
The vibratory plating process is ideal for orders of medium to large volumes of parts that require tight specifications of plating distribution, surface imperfection, along with low labor costs to conform to.
